Hey everyone! I’ve been living the digital nomad life for a while now, and honestly, I still don't get how people manage to actually work from hotel rooms or Airbnb that +aren't set up for it. I'm constantly working at some awkard desks, bad chairs, terrible lighting. My back hurts, my neck hurts, and by the end of the day, it seems to me that the whole room is just an extension of my laptop. There's not separation at all between “work” and “rest”.
How are you managing the situation? Are you carrying a portable setup or a certain piece of equipment that would make working remotely more comfortable(stands, lamps,...)?
Do you change furniture position, create a improvised a desk, or just decide to work from the bed like the rest of us?
Also, how are you switching off mentally at the end of the day? Or do your room just always end up feeling like a small office from which you can’t get away?
I’m looking for small habits or tools that make hotel rooms feel a bit more “mine” even when I’m only there for a couple of days.
For context: I travel with a mini router, a clip-on light to use during call, and an ergonomic pillow... but I feel like something missing to make my setup actually comfortable (and a little bit less sad).
Would love to hear your hacks, objects, or weird habits that save your back and your sanity.
